This week the children shared the text 'What the Ladybird Heard at the Seaside'. They identified rhyming words and sentences to describe the seaside. The children identified features of the beach and learnt all about coasts and how to identify them on a map.
The children also learnt all about compasses and how to use them. They will be implemented in our outdoor learning for the children to explore further.
For our final half term in Reception we will spend the next few weeks recapping all of our Jolly Phonics knowledge with a particular focus on comprehension skills and independent writing.
In maths the children have been introduced to sharing and grouping equally. They have explored this through continuous provision activities.
Finally, we had a visit from the Ambulance service on Tuesday. The children got to beep the horn and put on the siren and flashing lights. In the back of the ambulance the children got to measure their heart rates and use bandages to help take care of the paramedics on board.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
