To celebrate 'World Ocean Day' on 8th June, the children shared the story 'Clean Up!' They discussed and used their creative skills to make posters to show how we can protect the Ocean. In preparation for our trip next week the children were introduced to the language of the shore and the coastline. They used maps of the British Isles to identify places where the land meets the sea.
In their writing the children wrote about their holiday news. They are being encouraged to write extended sentences and to use word banks to identify unfamiliar words.
This week in maths the focus has been on number doubles. The children have used numicon shapes and cubes to identify doubles to 10. They are being encouraged to develop rapid recall of these number facts.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
