In literacy this week we have continued to focus on the text Little Red Riding Hood and we rewrote the story with a twist. We discussed alternative settings that Little Red Riding Hood could walk through rather than walking through a forest to visit Grandma. We had some super ideas for alternative settings including a desert, the Arctic, a rainforest and the beach.
In maths we have been investigating counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.
Our topic in Design and Technology this half term is puppet making. We investigated different ways to join two pieces of fabric including gluing, stapling and pinning.
In history we are focusing on toys from the last century. We were very lucky to have a visitor in this week to talk about her favourite toy from her childhood. Prior to the talk we discussed what questions would help our investigation into toys from the past and remembered that questions needed to begin with words such as ‘when’, ‘what’ and ‘how’.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
