This week has been Science week and we have had such an exciting time!
Year 2 became animal rescuers for a day and had to consider what we would need to do if we rescued a small kitten. We identified that we would need to feed it and keep it warm. We carried out a fair test and considered using dry cotton, wet cotton, a space blanket, dry cotton and a space blanket and wet cotton and a space blanket to keep our kitten warm. We also ensured we had a control to measure against.
We measured the temperature in Celsius over a period of time to monitor the drop in temperature. At the end of the experiment, we identified that the dry cotton and space blanket would keep the kitten the warmest and the wet cotton dropped in temperature the most and would leave the kitten colder than if we had left the kitten without any help.
We have also become news reporters this week in Literacy, writing about Hannah's adventure with a Gorilla, fraction-finders in Maths, and exploring Cloud Forests in Topic!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
