It has been another very busy week in Year One!
In literacy we have started a brand new book - The Pandas Who Promised written by Rachel Bright and Jim Field. After reading the book and discussing any new vocabulary, we worked together to retell the story in our own words. In maths we have been counting up and down the number line in 2s and in 5s. We began to look for patterns and identified that when counting up from 0 in 2s, the answer will always end in a 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8. When counting in 5s we found that the answer only ended in a 5 or a 0.
In Geography we have begun to look at the different continents and at Asia in particular. We were able to identify the U.K. on the map as well as China.
We had a lots of fun on World Book Day and we all looked fantastic in our costumes. We enjoyed sharing our favourite books with our friends and talking about our favourite characters.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
