Formby Nature Reserve - May 2024
What an exciting week we have had in Year One!
In our literacy lessons we continued to work on the text Aladdin. We thought of other wishes Aladdin could make and placed them into a new version of the story with fantastic ideas such as wishing for a dragon to escape on the back of. We are certainly an imaginative group!
In maths we have begun to look at fractions of shape and number of objects. We found out that if we cut something into halves you need to ensure it is in two equal parts. There is no such thing as a bigger half!
In science we investigated seeds and bulbs. We identified that seeds from different plants can look very different to each other.
We had a fantastic trip out to Formby Nature Reserve on Wednesday. We enjoyed making bark rubbings in the forest and drawing pine cones and different creatures we came across. After a well deserved lunch, we had a lovely walk onto the beach where we dug in the sand and had a great run around.
