This week the children shared the text 'The Pirate Cruncher'. They made maps to find the buried treasure and wrote sentences to describe the sea monster. In the creative area they designed and used a variety of resources to make their own sea monster. They talked about their creations to the class and discussed ways they could make improvements.
This week the children engaged in a pirate themed, drama workshop. They acted out a narrative using their bodies to make props and used their knowledge of pirate language to enhance the story. The children really enjoyed the workshop and all engaged in the performance! Ooh Arr!
In maths the children have continued to revise their knowledge of numbers to 20. They have ordered numerals and have developed correct number formation. They have used numicon to understand the composition of numbers.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
