It has been another busy week here in Year One!
As well as enjoying some fun in the snow, we have continued to look at our book The Great Storm Whale in literacy and we focused on rewriting the story in our own words. In maths we have investigated number 11 - 20 looking at what would be one more and one less than each of the numbers. In science we have started our animals topic focusing this week on mammals. We found out that all mammals have fur or hair and that some can be kept as pets while others live in the wild. We used our compass skills in geography to identify north, east, south and west on our playground.
On Wednesday we were visited by Zoo Lab who brought with them a variety of exotic creatures for us to look at closely and even touch. We loved stroking the corn snake the most but some of us thought the tarantula was the best!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
