Zoolab
This week the children shared the text 'We're Roaming in the Rainforest.' They learnt about the environment, the animals and identified the different layers of the Rainforest. They explored the new role play and small world areas using the vocabulary they have been introduced to.
In Jolly Phonics the children have been introduced to capital letters. They have revised previous knowledge of tricky words and have developed handwriting skills. The have learnt short vowels a,e,i,o and u and identified these in different words.
In maths this week the children have continued their addition skills, using lots of practical resources. They wrote their own sums using number lines to support number recognition and numicon to support counting skills. They used their subitising skills to quicky add numbers together.
To enhance their knowledge of the Rainforest the children had a visit from Zoolab. They had fun meeting and handling some of the animals and minibeasts that live there!
