We have had lots of fun this week in the run up to The King's coronation! We have made crowns and decorated our very own picnic bags. On our coronation day, we decorated biscuits with Union Jacks, and then we had a very special picnic! We enjoyed sausage rolls, jam sandwiches, cakes, popcorn and our biscuits! Yum yum!
In Literacy, we read the book The Boy Who Would Be King, by Michael Morpurgo which is based on the childhood of King Charles. We used this to help us create recipes to make a king. In Maths we have been working on position and direction; we know clockwise and anti-clockwise, and can move in full, half and quarter turns! In Science, we continued our topic by conducting an experiment on germination! We have planted beans and have placed them in dark and light environments within the classroom. Some will be watered, and some will not! We can't wait to see what will happen. Matthew Henson was our explorer of the week and we found out about his North Pole expedition.
