Year One have had such a busy week since returning from our Easter holiday.
Our topic this half term is Once Upon a Story and we began our literacy lessons by reading Little Red Riding Hood by Ed Bryan. We created a setting description of the forest thinking carefully about what Little Red Riding Hood could see, hear and smell.
In maths we investigated volume and capacity. We compared the capacity of different containers and measured out different volumes of liquid reading the scales carefully.
For our art lesson we sketched a teddy bear using sketching pencils and oil pastels. We focused on proportions and the placement of ears, eyes and nose.
During our music lesson we listened to Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky. We used our bodies to move in time to the music and focused carefully on the rhythm of the piece of music.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
