What a busy half term we have had in Year One and this week has been no exception!
In literacy we have enjoyed writing and reciting poetry. We learned to recite Five Little Senses All in a Row by Andrew Fusek Peters using actions to help us remember the words. We wrote our own poems about our school and Autumn using our senses to help build the stanzas.
In maths we have continued to work on our addition skills and commutativity.
In science we have looked at the weather at set points each day and recorded it. We looked for patterns and discussed the changing temperature and daylight hours.
In DT we created our own moving story book of Humpty Dumpty using vertical and horizontal cuts to allow Humpty to move from side to side and from the top of the wall to the bottom of the wall.
We hope everyone has a lovely and safe half term break and enjoys a well deserved rest. The Year One Team are very proud of everything the children have achieved and we cannot wait to welcome them back in November.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
