We have had another very busy week in Year 1!
We began a new book this week in literacy called Dogger by Shirley Hughes. We retold the story as a class using our drama skills and looked carefully at any new vocabulary we came across within the text. We all created wonderful character descriptions of Dogger focusing on the use of adjectives.
In maths we have learnt about part whole models and their connection to addition.
In science we looked at temperature and how we measure it. We investigated a range thermometers including room thermometers, head thermometers and thermometers we can use to measure the temperature of liquid.
In music we learned about the solfege syllables do, re, mi and the associated hand signs. We managed to sign along with the song Do-Re-Mi from the Sound of Music!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
