This week the children have enjoyed the story We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen. They have joined in with repeated phrases and used these in their narrative whilst in the role play area. The children have learnt new vocabulary that they use in their play on a daily basis.
In Jolly Phonics they have learnt their first sound family tree. This was the 'long vowel a' family consisting of diagraph ai, ay and spilt diagraph a_e. Please reinforce these at home.

In Maths this week the children have been learning all about time. We spoke about things we do in our morning routine and things we do in our evening routine. We spoke about how we realise the difference in night and day. We looked at the clock and spoke about different times things happen in our daily routine. We know we come to school at 9 o'clock, have our lunch at 12 o'clock and get ready to go home at 3 o'clock.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
