Each week a class will recommend a book from their class library. You might want to see if you can find this book at your local library.
2P have thoroughly enjoyed reading Bean Thirteen by Matthew McEllicott. This funny book tackles dinner party problems, unlucky numbers and the challenge of sharing 13 beans equally. We all loved the fantastic illustrations and waiting to see if Ralph ever managed to get over his fear of Bean Thirteen!
2P give this book 5 stars * * * * *
This week, 2B have recommended a book. We really liked The Last Tiger by Petr Horacek. It was a bit sad because the tiger got taken and put in the cage, but we liked the ended because he squeezed through the bars and was free!
We really like all the lovely pictures in this story, and we would recommend it to anyone who would like to read a story, with a good ending.
2B give The Last Tiger 5 stars!
This week RJ recommends 'The Runaway Pea' by Kjartan Poskitt and Alex Willmore. We thought it was really funny and we liked the part when the pea's bottom caught fire! The book has great pictures and it made us want to find out more about where peas come from.
1K have really enjoyed The Worrysaurus by Rachel Bright and Chris Chatterton. We loved the artwork in this book, especially the pictures of the woods. We also enjoyed this book as we knew how The Worrysaurus felt like at certain moments in the book. We liked how he managed to calm down and enjoy his day. We give this book 5 stars!
2H have really enjoyed reading Ruby's worry. We enjoyed learning all about how Ruby overcomes her worry. We discussed how everyone can have worries. 2H came up with some brilliant ideas of what to do when you have a worry as well as how you can help others. 2H gave Ruby's Worry 5 stars! *****
1K have throughouly enjoyed reading The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. We loved to feel the fish's sequin scales. We loved how the fish changed from being quite unkind to being a good friend by the end of the book. Our favourite part was when the Rainbow Fish met the wise octopus and he gave him brilliant advice.
RJ loved the story 'What's in the Witch's Kitchen' by Nick Sharratt. We shared the book during story time and found it really funny! We loved opening the pages to see what we might find!
