    Our Visit to London!

On Thursday 30th March, our school took part in a workshop with Wild At Art, who helped to recreate our designs so they are ready for the bench, and fit for a King!

    Our Winning Design!

    All About Our Design!

We came together as a whole school family to create our vision of what we would like the bench to
represent. We began with a series of assemblies using the fantastic resources provided to ignite the
children’s interest and develop a deep understanding of the Coronation. All our children were involved in
some way and our completed design was presented to our staff and parents from whom we received
overwhelming support and agreement for our vision.

Front- Having being involved in ‘plant a tree for the Jubilee’ we wanted to make this the main feature of
our bench. The children used our ethos’ The more we know the more we grow’ and used the books to
symbolise our future hopes. When thinking about our hopes for the future, the children looked at what
the future King had done for the country and his passions. We believe the crown shares our future vision
of positivity, hope, faith, peace and education for our children’s lives. The roots of the tree signify the 4
countries of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. The Liver bird sits central on the trunk of the
tree to represent how proud we are of our city and the part we believe it plays in the future vision of the
    country.

Back- This represents the animals that are endangered and the hopes we have of saving our planet. The
rainbow became such a symbol of hope during Covid that we felt it important to reference. This time had
such an impact on our children and has become a prevalent part of their history. The people symbolise
the key workers and the strength we held together. The crown has provided us with hope and courage
throughout the decades and as the rainbow has been a symbol of strength, so too we believe the crown
continues to provide constancy and hope in an ever changing world.

Side 1- Our Early children have spent time planting wild flowers to encourage insects in our local
environment. They are really proud of this and it was important to them to represent it on our bench.
This side includes our recycling bin (designed by our eco club) with the symbol of our school in the middle
as this is another area of sustainability that as a school we promote and are really proud of.

Side 2- This represents our love of the Oceans and our need to protect them for future generations.
