Letter from Liverpool City Council
Thank you to Rosie and Violet from the RNLI Lifeguard Team who came to school today to talk to us about Water Safety. We learnt all abut the job they do and some very important messages that will help to keep us all safe! We know what the different coloured flags on the beach mean and how to float on our backs if we get into trouble in the water. If we see anyone in trouble in the water we must always ring 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Today Tess and Hope Bear from North West Cancer Research returned to school to host a Fun Run! Given the hot weather we jogged 2 laps of the school grounds.
The school presented Tess with a cheque for £150!

On Wednesday 26th April 2023, we were lucky enough to be invited to see the King and Queen Consort during their visit to Liverpool. Due to being a Forestry school, and with winning the Coronation Bench competition, we were selected to welcome Their Majesties into the Liverpool Central Library. As a school we are extremely honoured to have been invited, and the 20 children who were selected randomly were very excited to meet the King and Queen.
The SNAG Team had a difficult decision picking the winners of our Coronation meal competition. Thank you to everyone that took part!
The chosen meal was a Royal Roast Chicken Dinner with all the trimmings followed by Royal Strawberry Jelly with cream and blue sprinkles (hopefully!) designed by Neslisah, Michael and Morgan.
There was also a prize for Aliza who designed a Royal Cupcake for our Coronation Picnic.
Well done to our winners and thanks to Mr Rob who is going to make the winning food!
On Thursday 23rd March we received the fantastic news that our school had been chosen as one of the 15 winners in the design a bench for the King's Coronation. The whole school was involved in the design process. Updates on the competition can be found under the children icon on this website.
If you click on the link below you will find new information to support Parents/ Carers, Families and children in Liverpool. Along with information regarding events and activities on offer running from March to May 2023.
It's been a fabulous day in school with the end of Science Week coinciding with Red Nose Day!! For fun the teacher's set up a 'Masked Singer Scientist' competition!!!
Well done to 1M who guessed 5 of the 6 voices correctly.
But as well as having fun we raised nearly £400 for Comic Relief - so thank you everyone for your generosity!! Thank you to the School Council who helped with the collection this morning!
This week we had sessions on healthy eating delivered by Tess, Julie and Hope Bear. We learnt some very important key messages - eat 7 portions of fruit and veg a day, but mainly veg - drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day - clean your teeth twice a day for 2 minutes.
Tess, Julie and Hope Bear will be back in April to talk about sun safety.
Over the last few weeks we have been working together as a school to design a bench fit to be on display during the coronation of the King. Our entry has been submitted today, and if we win, our design will be used to create a real bench that will be ready and in use in London for the coronation!
The front of the bench shows a tree with four books each with words that represent our hopes for the future. The Liver Bird sits central on the trunk to show how proud we are of our city.
On the back, we have featured some endangered animals and these represent the hopes we have to save our planet! We also have a rainbow which was a symbol of hope during COVID, and the children thought it was important to show this on our bench. We also have people to symbolise key workers and 'togetherness'. The crown is also there to represent hope and courage for the future.
On one side, we have a recycling bin with wild flowers and insects, to show the importance of sustainability and protecting our local environment. On the other side, we have the ocean with some sea creatures, showing the love for our oceans and the need to protect them for future generations.
We've all enjoyed 'Children's National Mental Health Week' and the fun games and activities. The connecting hula hoop game has been a great success on the yard!
Thank you to everyone who entered 'Guess The Teacher's Relative' competition which we all agreed was very difficult. Well done to our winners who really earned their prizes!! The answers can be found on the MHEWB page of our website!!
