Non Fiction Writing - January 2026
Our first school week of 2026 has been a busy one in Year One!
In literacy we have focused on the book Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers. In preparation for our fact file writing next week, we have been learning about the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts and looking at headings and sub headings.
In maths we have been using our knowledge of number bonds to and within 10 to help us with our addition skills within 20.
In geography we have been investigating how atlases work and we used them to find the United Kingdom. We then looked at the different countries within the U.K. and whereabouts they could be found on a map.
