  • Plaiting - January 2025

In literacy this week we have continued to focus on the book Clean Up and the theme of cleaning up beaches. We planned and wrote letters to the Mayor advising why we should clean up how local beaches, how it could be done and what may happen if local beaches were kept clean. We have certainly got some fantastic Eco Warriors in our year group!

In maths we have moved onto Place Value, focusing on numbers up to 50. We have investigated the make up of these numbers using a variety of manipulatives.

We enjoyed our science sessions this week focusing on another two senses - the sense of sight and the sense of smell. We used our noses to try and identify mystery smells in a variety of pots. We really liked the smell of some things ( soap, toothpaste) but some of us didn't like some other smells (vinegar, garlic puree).

As part of our Woven Wonders art lessons, we have been learning to plait this week which was good fun.
