In literacy this week we started a new book called Six Dinner Sid. We really enjoyed hearing about the cat living at different houses on the same street allowing him to get six different dinners. We talked about each street having its own name and each house having its own number. In geography we looked at aerial maps of our local area having found our country, city and school on Google Earth. On the aerial maps we identified local land marks and our own school. To help us understand our local area, we went for a walk around the local streets around our school and identified key local landmarks such as Robin Hood's Stone, the post box and different shops. We identified different street names and noticed that house numbers on one side of the street were all odd and on the other side of the street were all even.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
