This half term our focus is on China and we began this week by looking at the book The Magic Paintbrush by Julia Donaldson. We created fantastic character descriptions of the evil Emperor and focused on using different sentence openers and interesting adjectives.
In maths we have been looking at counting in 2s and 5s using different maths equipment to help us. We have tackled some place value mastery questions helping us to understand these key concepts and deepen our learning.
In science we have moved onto the topic of animals and began to sort animals depending on whether they were mammals, bird, fish, amphibians and reptiles.
In music we listened to the a piece of music called The Yellow River Concerto and created musical movement pictures. We listened carefully to the piece of music and moved our pen along the paper creating a musical map of how we imagined the movement should be shown. We considered which coloured pen to use depending on the tempo and the timbre.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
