in literacy this week we have enjoyed the text Cops and Robbers by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. We created wonderful character descriptions of Officer Pugh that focused on his appearance and his personality. We thought carefully about using interesting sentence openers and exciting adjectives.

In maths we have continued to look at place value from 11 - 20. We continued to compare numbers and order three or more numbers from smallest to greatest and vice versa.

In science we have continued to work on our topic of materials and this week we considered which materials were absorbent. We carried out a ‘fair test’ to identify which materials were absorbent and which were not.  We ensured that each time we placed the material in 5ml of water for only ten seconds and then observed the results carefully. We are going to consider whether we have any absorbent materials in our own homes.
