As part of our topic of China, we have started to read the non-fiction text My Country China. We have enjoyed learning facts about where China is in the world, what the landscape looks like and what grows in China.
In maths we have begun to measure height and length using rulers. We learned the importance of placing the ruler in the correct position, how to read from the ruler and ensuring we always identified which unit of measurement we were measuring in. This week we have been measuring in centimetres.
In art we were inspired by the sculpture Maman by Louise Bourgeois and created a giant class sculpture of a spider using our paper skills. We rolled newspaper into tubes and attached them in certain ways using masking tape to create our fantastic art piece.
