The children celebrated 'National Poetry Day' by sharing a variety of poems. Children in year 2 wrote their own poems and made performances for their peers. We really enjoyed watching Michael Rosen's performance of Chocolate Cake!

RJ shared the book 'The Rhyming Rabbit' by Julia Donaldson. We looked at the different poems in the story and identified rhyming words. Our favourite poem was about rabbit digging a hole. We learnt the poem and performed it in our groups.

For National Poetry Day RB shared Miss Bowen's favourite poem from when she was in school - Please Mrs Butler by Allan Ahlberg.
