This week the children have been sharing the traditional tale 'The Three Little Pigs'. They have used costumes and props to act out the story and have joined in with repeated refrains. In their writing the children have retold the story, becoming familiar with story openings and endings. In talking partners they have written character descriptions of the wolf, focusing on using descriptive language.
In maths this week the children have been using scales to weigh objects using cubes. They have become familiar with the terminology related to weight.
Alongside their learning of traditional tales the children have developed an interest in the topic 'People who help us'. This week they learnt about the role of the firefighter and had a visit from the firefighters who brought their fire appliance with them.
