At Booker Avenue Infant School we use a wide range of reading schemes including selection of Songbird Phonics, Collins Phonics and Dandelion reading books. We also follow the Letters and Sounds Document from Reception to the end of Year Two ensuring all children have access to high quality phonics. Year One classes complement this with extra phonics sessions using Phonics Play planning and resources.
Literacy and maths teaching is lead by Liverpool City Council planning and also Lancashire County planning. White Rose Maths is also used to inform maths planning. We believe that by using and adopting planning and approaches by several schemes, we have been able to tailor a curriculum to meet the needs of the children in our school whilst providing them with a well-balanced and rounded education.
If you require any further information about the school curriculum, please don't hesitate to contact the school at admin@bookeravenue-inf.co.uk
