Today was our first School Council meeting of the school year - socially distanced in the hall. We talked about what we remembered about the children on the School Council last year and the things they did.
We discussed how this year we would need to work differently to keep ourselves safe.
We introduced ourselves and talked about our experiences during lockdown and the school closure. The school Council are going to tell their classmates what we talked about and encourage them to share their feelings too.
Next time we are going to talk about the rules that have been put in place to keep us safe in our bubbles - what we think of the rules and any way we can adapt or change them for the better.
As we are not allowed to meet together as a whole school or use our traditional suggestion box, we have devised a "buddy" system. Year 1 teachers will message any suggestions/concerns/ideas to their Year 2 Teacher Buddy and the School Council will bring them to the next meeting.
2P are "buddy" to 1G and 1N
2B are "buddy" to 1CM
2D are "buddy" to 1K
Reception children will be "introduced" to the School Council and how it works after half term.
